Read What Donald Did To His Wedding Caterer, It Will Make You Sick

http://americannewsx.com/politics/read-donald-wedding-caterer-will-make-sick/

An actor friend of mine worked for a caterer in 1993. It was a new caterer, and this caterer was thrilled to land the kind of job that can really boost a career — catering Donald Trump and Marla Maples wedding. At the time she wondered why he didn’t hire other caterers he’d used in the past, but just thanked her lucky stars he hired her.

Everything went beautifully — the food was a hit, the waiters/waitresses all were totally professional. Everything was first rate.

Donald Trump refused to pay the bill. He told the caterer, “I know you are new at this, and when you tell people you catered MY wedding, you will get more business than you could ever dream of. So I am doing you a favor. And when I do favors, I don’t pay. End of discussion.”

She couldn’t believe it — she sent numerous bills — ignored. She threatened to sue — he said “Go ahead. I don’t lose in court.” She explored suing, but came away knowing it would cost her high legal bills, and wouldn’t be worth it. After more than six months of his stonewalling she ended up paying her staff out of her own pocket, though couldn’t pay them fully or she’d be out of business. So Trump stiffed not only her, but her staff, her chefs, her busboys.

These stories need to come out by the thousand... WITH ALL OF THE CONTRACTORS HE'S DEALT WITH OVER THE YEARS?

In the 90's both my husband and I were self employed as independent contractors- he a landscape design/build and me as an interior muralist. We dealt with almost exclusively wealthy clients, and most of them stiffed us for at least 10% of the bill. Some claimed they were unsatisfied on some way or another (bullshit) but most just made us chase them for the money. They had it all worked out. Most of the time the amount was between one thousand and three thousand dollars, so they had it gamed out that we could not afford to take time off from work to go to small claims court or to hire a lawyer to handle our claims. I t would cost more money than we would gain. That was the grift.
We were working very close to the bone, so we liked to add a little thing we liked to call the AHSC to all of our bids. We jacked the final bid amount by 15% and called it the asshole sur-charge.

I can easily imagine a GIANT ASSHOLE like Trump not paying anyone and getting away with it.

You try to sue Donald Trump, he kills you with legal costs, stonewalling, etc. with his merry band of lawyers.
You can't create a class-action lawsuit against big banks if they should, oh, I dunno.. create fake accounts in your name. Fine print (generally) says "arbitration" - which also means the bank gets the lawyers, and can hold you accountable for legal fees. Elizabeth Warren should take a baseball bat to both of these shenanigans. (And maybe she has already; the CFPB has proposed rules to make such bank contracts illegal.)

Business model used by more than Trump. Corporations also have the habit of over charging customers by small amount. Times by hundreds or thousands. Most people will not sue because a lawyer costs more than the amount they overcharged. Credit cards apply payments after the due dates so they can make late fees. Insurance companies hold checks that should be sent out after you make a claim wait until you call them several times. Mortgage companies that refuse to take payments and have it fixed so you cannot set up payments. Public utilities like Ohio AEP that will not let you set up automatic deductions, you have to have a good credit rating. All these companies need regulation and oversite and the republicans over the years have created laws for them to be able to do this legally. Let a regular person try to take the Trump discount.

I found a lot of articles where he "skimmed" tips from wait staff. Apparently there is no one that Trump won't rip off.

Fast-food panderer Donald Trump is busy rampaging across the country in his quest to become America’s supreme leader, but he’s still having a hard time with the hospitality industry. The presidential hopeful, along with his daughter Ivanka and son Donald Jr., is the target of a lawsuit filed by catering employee Deborah Garcia, who claims that Trump SoHo Hotel illegally stiffed catering staff out of tips. She hopes for the suit to go class-action, and the hotel’s developers, the Sapir Organization and Bayrock Group LLC, and sushi restaurant Koi Soho’s brass are also defendants.

According to the complaint, the hotel allegedly retained the mandatory 22 percent service fee attached to all bills, which the lawsuit argues a “reasonable customer would believe … was in fact a gratuity,” in violation of state labor law. The service charge has been levied since February 2009 at least through the time of the lawsuit being filed. Garcia, who worked at the hotel in 2013, says it was not disclosed on bills, invoices, or menus that the charge would go to the hotel. A statement released by the hotel claims that Garcia was never employed by the hotel, and that the blame for any tip stiffing lies squarely on the shoulders of third-party contractors. The parties will meet again in court on September 1, after which point the Donald will likely have folded the Republican Party into the Trump Organization.

on 5th ave or maybe even anywhere in NYC.
Just over 10 years ago I was asked by an existing home
customer if I could help her husband's small business in Manhattan.

I was in Fairfield Cty CT and I normally would not go to NYC. I ended up agreeing that I would charge for driving as well.

The small business on 5th ave had lost its patient database on a hard drive
and needed to have it recovered from tape. All tapes were unreadable.

I spent two separate days down there helping this guy and got him back in operation. I billed him and no response. A second notice. Nothing.

I finally called an attorney I knew and asked him to help me recover my bill.

He finally did, but only after settling for like 35% of the bill.

I was taken by a t-rump like clown.

Maybe he could set up a legal fund to sue Trump. Could that be done as a class action?

The poor guy is being oppressed so hard from taxes that he doesn't pay, and regulations he doesn't follow, and obamacare and lots of other job killing socialism that he can't afford to pay his contractors and caterers. They're not smart like he is to avoid taxes and other obligations the rest of us are just too stupid to avoid.

It's amazing anyone still does business with this worthless piece of shit. Michael Bloomberg and other more liberal billionaires have publicly stated that Trump has always been a selfish asshole to work with.

86. I got a Trump tale,too!

Well it doesn't involve Trump directly but....

I used to be a member of a band who played at the Trump marina in Atlantic City off and on. They wouldn't pay you directly at the end of the gig. You had to send them an invoice. You couldn't hand deliver the invoice you had to send it to their accounting department. The accounting office was not open on weekends (when we played). It was always a good idea to send the invoice certified with a return receipt. They always dragged their heels about paying. It could take about four to eight weeks to get paid and that was with a booking agent staying on the account. God forbid if the marina didn't get that invoice within five business days. God forbid if you didn't have proof that Trump marina received your invoice.(tracking number, signed return receipt, etc.)

Anyway our booking agent forgot to invoice them once within the time frame, then the Trump marina went bankrupt so we got stiffed. I think it was for a couple of gigs. It was for the amount of $2500-3000. We had a very reputable agency and they made good on the loss so the band didn't lose.We were lucky!

To top it off after the bankruptcy, they wanted us to play there again.

According to Snopes it's unsubstantiated. And we all know Snopes is accurate and is one the most prominent Fact Checkers. You can read for yourself! http://www.snopes.com/donald-trump-stiffed-his-wedding-caterer/

Although, much like his failure to provide his tax forms, we shouldn't hold our collective breath.

Also, as I pointed out above, he seems to use our legal system as a personal playground for bullying.
This begs the question- Why has the Drumpenfuhrer not sued to silence his accuser?

96. That's how Trump operates
Tue Oct 4, 2016, 08:09 AM

He hires someone then either complains about non-existent poor workmanship to chip away at the original agreed upon cost or says he's doing them a favor as in this example.

Even if the work was fine, Trump's business pattern is to complain about the work to essentially get a part or all of it free of charge. And that's how he made a chunk of his money. That's probably why there are so many lawsuits. It's his business model. He's sees everyone as potential suckers for him to exploit.
