General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsNBC and/or Marc Burnett Productions have been shielding this racist for YEARS by sitting
on that footage. And if that Angry Yam used those terms...treated women as we've seen, and The Apprentice was not taken off of the air, they are condoning that shit.
If a so called Catholic *allowed* this to happen under his watch, and he did nothing to correct it other than leave it on the editing floor, then he was complicit in what Hairy Orange did.
If NBC does not release these tapes, or Marc Burnett, by not releasing what he is really like, they are as guilty of trying to mess with an election as Julian Assange tried to be.
Through those years, NBC and Marc Burnett, by placating Failing OOopah Loompah's outbursts enabled him. They propped up this stuff.
Billy Bush should be fired. He *already* should have been fired. NBC should demand the release of all footage as to show that they are not trying to sway this election in Don the Con's favor.
Something about this just doesn't sit right with me

(840 posts)Burnett owns the tapes not NBC. NBC should apply pressure to him by threatening to cancel shows but they won't

(20,210 posts)"NBC has aired The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice since 2004, but the shows are owned by Mark Burnett Productions, which is majority owned by MGM. Burnett has declined to comment on Trump and a representative for MGM and its CEO Gary Barber did not respond to a request for comment. MGM attorneys may fear a contract lawsuit from Trump if they agree to release any audio or visual outtakes. The potential complication may be that Trump, as an executive producer on The Apprentice, could have the right to approve any video or audio that is released publicly."

(36,827 posts)I tried to watch one episode and didn't make it to the first commercial break. Anyone who tries to run a business like that show would run it into the ground, and as it turns out that's really pretty indicative of Trump's track record.

(153,180 posts)people seem to be entertained watching people being kicked off, knocked out, fired, etc - it is very disurbing

(36,827 posts)Most of it is staged and all of it uses rank amateur actors. Not my idea of entertainment. If I want to see reality, I can go to Wal-Mart.

(38,958 posts)NBC sat on the tape that was released for 4 days "trying" decide what they should do. In my opinion NBC has long been far too cozy with the current GOP Presidential Candidate and has been making decisions solely based upon what would help drive their ratings and increase their cash flow. There has never been anything resembling journalism in this election and certainly not from NBC.
I believe both of these organizations, NBC and Burnett's productions need to be avoided.

I wonder what Roma thinks of this what with being part of such a holier-than-thou couple she can't think that being grabbed by Trump would be like being "Touched By An Angel" .

(10,291 posts)they fucking covered it up. This is unacceptable.
There is no "memo" telling him to straighten up his act...they didn't *care*, and neither did Marc Burnett Productions either.
They KNEW about this, and did nothing to correct it. They just let it happen...for profit.
I guess money was more important
