Denver archbishop blasts Democratic platform: Catholics ‘cannot support’ pro-abortion candidates

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/denver-archbishop-blasts-democratic-platform-catholics-cannot-support-pro-a

Catholics “in good conscience cannot support candidates who will advance abortion” and the Democratic party “platform is aggressively pro-abortion,” the Denver Archbishop Samuel Aquila wrote in a column lambasting abortion, same-sex “marriage,” and hostile attacks on religious freedom.

Describing a dinner party conversation he had with other Catholics, Aquila said he shared his “aversion for both candidates” but said Catholics “need to reflect on the platforms of both parties, with an emphasis on the human life issues.”

“This is the most important guidance I can give: allow your ongoing personal encounter with Jesus Christ and the Church to guide your political decisions,” Aquila said. “I say this because we believe that the truth about ourselves and the world we live in is revealed in and through him. Our society suffers and has suffered for quite some time because too few people live an integrated life – one that does not divide ‘the personal’ from ‘the public.’”

...

“Catholic voters must make themselves aware of where the parties stand on these essential issues,” Aquila wrote. “The right to life is the most important and fundamental right, since life is necessary for any of the other rights to matter. There are some issues that can legitimately be debated by Christians, such as which policies are the most effective in caring for the poor, but the direct killing of innocent human life must be opposed at all times by every follower of Jesus Christ. There are no legitimate exceptions to this teaching.”

Yup, that's right. No matter what Drumpf does, a good Catholic can't vote for Hillary because she supports a woman's freedom to make her own reproductive choices.

Vote For Hillary Clinton Because Women Are Not To Have Authority Over Men’

Kyle MantylaBy Kyle Mantyla | October 11, 2016 10:37 am

Religious Right activist “Coach” Dave Daubenmire posted a video this morning declaring that a recording of Donald Trump bragging about being able to sexually assault women because he is famous should be of far less concern to Christians than the prospect of allowing a woman to become president.

“Women and men may be equal,” Daubenmire said, “but I think it’s pretty clear that the Bible teaches us that women should not be in authority over a man.”

Louie Gohmert Links Homosexuality To Noah’s Flood

brian-tashman-4By Brian Tashman | October 11, 2016 11:26 am

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, who has previously registered his concern about the prospect of gay space colonies, connected homosexuality to Noah’s Flood on a radio program yesterday.

Gohmert, who was guest hosting the “Point of View” radio show, interviewed conservative activist and “Reaganbook” founder Janet Porter about her anti-LGBT film “Light Wins,” which featured appearances from Gohmert and other prominent Republicans such as Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee.

The congressman quoted a portion of the movie in which Porter, who believes that same-sex marriage caused Noah’s Flood, alleges that the only time in history besides today “where homosexual unions were authorized as marriage was in the ‘Days of Noah.’”

How many people will die as a result of these sins? Yet not a word about these evils!

What a woman does with her own body--especially in light of the awful treatment of women for millennia by false religion--is their own business. The murdering, lying, crooked "church" has lost any right they might have ever had to tell women what to do. Aquila, you should have a cow pie shoved in your dirty lying rotten face. God is not in your heart. It is time for the bishops to STFU! Oh, and pay your taxes, you dirty freeloaders!
