My power has been out since 1pm Saturday.
We got whomped in this region of the state. I think every tree was blowed over.
Now comes the kicker for some people. The rivers are rising and they are getting flooding.
There was a loud noise during the storm. I had new decorative greenery. It came as close as you can get.

(48,955 posts)thanks for posting (folks have been worried since your post on Saturday).
Until you can get it taken care of - just consider it a little Christmas Greenery that was delivered a bit too early this year.

(111,316 posts)You're a little ahead of my online buddy who had to chainsaw his way out of the house after Katrina, but not by much. You'll have plenty of wood for the fireplace this winter, but it sucks to lose such a big old tree.

(32,086 posts)We got some wind and rain here, but nothing like that. I'll still be picking up twigs and branches for a while though. I'm sorry to hear about the contents of your refrigerator. Hope you and the kitties were able to eat up some of it before it spoiled.

(16,903 posts)Island, just off St. Augustine.. it is only 14 miles long and a mile wide.. we have approx. 2 billion in damages.
Luckily for us, our house suffered no water or other damages, no broken glass.. nothing! Just a tall pine tree in the back fell over..
We feel SO grateful and relieved!
The worst of this was the 4 days we spent in a motel in Tallahassee [they were okay with our dog].

(2,952 posts)But everything was up and running by Sunday afternoon. Our location on a hills downside and a lot of tall, century old oaks saved us from the wind. The areas a few blocks either way of us got hit. A1A in Flagler beach just north of us was swept into the ocean. We dodged a bullet.

(31,399 posts)The flooding has been awful here in NC. Really bad.
We're 150 miles inland and we had power knocked out Saturday-- for 4 1/2 hours only when we expected it would at least be overnight--and it scared us, too when it came back on!
We're on a hill, though, no flooding for us, but we did see some tree damage.

He said he had to go out and buy a generator.
I'm surprised one was still available.

(899 posts)Being the animal lover that I am, my heart always goes first to those with animals they are responsible for during these tragic times, but also to the furbabies with no humans to get them out of harms way. I know you've got a lot of clean up, but glad to hear you and your babies are out of danger.
