Donald Trump lost it Wednesday night. Not just the presidential debate in Las Vegas. But also his mind. And any claim to be qualified to be president of the United States.
You cant say what he said an hour and 15 minutes into the final face-off of this campaign. When he responded to moderator Chris Wallaces question of whether hed accept the results of the election on Nov. 8 by saying hed have to wait and see, the campaign was over for Trump.
No one with such cavalier disregard for the Constitution and American political tradition can claim any right to sit in the White House.
He proved what his critics have been saying about him: Hes dangerous.

(4,694 posts)However, if they had nominated Cruz or Rubio or another of those clowns, with all the manufactured hate for Hillary and all the anti-government craziness out there, their candidate might well have been able to win the presidency. Trump was a gift and we need to make the most of the opportunity we've been given.

For the past 8 elections or so, I've read LTTEs and listened to their conversations on how the Democratic candidates are totally unqualified for POTUS because they're either a womanizer, draft-dodger, flip-flopper, unpatriotic toward our men and women in uniform, under-experienced for POTUS, support a woman's right to choose, or a number of other excuses.
And today, these same people support Trump, and will post up to 7 signs in their yards to express that support.
These people lost any credibility they may have had to argue about qualified political candidates. They just proved to me they would vote for Hitler/Mussolini if they ran on the Republican POTUS ticket. And to give them the ability to argue that support, they will listen to the RW hate radio shows and Faux Snooze for talking points.

(82,849 posts)Why would the Republicans nominate someone who doesn't believe in the Constitution and our system of government? Perhaps Donald Trump needs to self deport?
Nay
(12,051 posts)Republicans (aka teapartiers) DON'T believe in the Constitution or our system of government. A bunch of them want to institute Christian religious law as the law of the land; most want to end women's bodily autonomy; most want only white males to be calling all the shots; and most think rich people are worthy and poor people should shuffle off and die and not bother others.
So there are plenty of reasons for Republicans to have nominated Trump. What they are complaining about now is that he was so blatant about their desires that he tipped off the dumb populace about the covert plans afoot.

(36,827 posts)They were falling over themselves trying to minimize Trump's loss and characterized his performance as his best out of all three debates, which even if true isn't really saying much. After several of them either completely ignored or glossed over Trump's obvious fuckups, Juan Williams pointed out how Trump failing to say he would accept the election results was a complete disaster. The best they could muster was the reluctant admission that Trump needed to hit it out of the park and he failed to do that.

By contrast, I'll proudly stand with Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine any day.

DAY
I'm an American first and a Democratic Party hound second. I'll vote for Hillary with a smile on my face. Same as when I voted for Obama knowing I/we are making history.
I like the way things has turned out with our first Black President, I'm sure I'll feel the same way with our first Female President. Hillary Clinton, President of the United States of America
Its about time we elect a woman President, need I say more?

Mostly by selective voter disenfranchisement in all its many forms. But not sure all the worries about black box voting are nonsense and talk of needing a paper trail is silly and all that.
From 2000 until about a few months ago, just about every progressive pilloried Al Gore for conceding "defeat", but that was then, and this is now I guess. Now it seems that anyone who questions the election process and results is an enemy of progressive people the world over. Who knew.
