Disappointing:
Trial lawyer hall-of-famer Mike Papantonio is joining RT America, and will host a new primetime weekly show called Americas Lawyer, beginning in November 2016.
On his show, Papantonio will examine and expose untold truths in corporate and environmental legal cases with a no-holds-barred approach in addressing lawyers who prey on consumers and corruption among federal and state judges.
This is going to be a big show, Papantonio told RT America. Its going to have massive legs from the standpoint of bumping up the story to where we put it out in front of the corporate media. At some point, the saturation level becomes that which they have to tell the story at last.
The show will tell the stories nobody else would have the chance to hear about due to corporate-controlled media and will interview lawyers handling the cases, Papantonio added.

It all sounds good, but in his intro video today, he was introduced by turncoat Ed Schultz, who has become a defender of Putin and frequent excuse-maker for Trump:

I've always liked Mike, but, once you sign on with a murderous dictator's state propaganda channel, it's hard to take you serious anymore.

(54,014 posts)I'll worry when Papantonio starts going easy on Trump.
But yes, RT is the source of a lot of bullshit. I wish Thom Hartmann would quit taking their money too. It just feels icky.

(8,377 posts)It may be a propaganda arm of Putin's. I don't know enough to declare that. Certainly some of the programming they carry sounds like Russian propaganda. But in my limited time watching that network, my main impression is that at least half of the programming is as worthwhile and needed as Democracy Now.
Maybe I am a sucker. And maybe RT looks good because the American media has become so consistently bad at telling the truth.

The Russians play a much more sophisticated game. Their propaganda draws you in be coming across as more reasonable. These guys are the best in the world at pressing the right buttons. This is why it is so scary for them to be working on Trump, because his buttons are so easy to find and use.

(38 posts)Yes Ed Shultz does have a show on RT. He did have a show on MSNBC but fell afoul of Comcast which owns MSNBC because of his opposition to the TPP. Ed Schultz is a supporter of Hillary Clinton.
Thom Hartman also has a show on RT and he is a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton.
Mike Papantonio is a real progressive who will not be anyone's propaganda tool.
All three of these gentleman will never have a place on main stream media because they are too progressive. I'm glad they're able to reach a larger audience be it on RT or any other network.
