So what if Jill Stein's recount effort is successful? Then what?

It's not as simple as "Hallelujah! We're saved!" Do you honestly think all those Trumpanzees, many if not most of them armed, will just slink back onto the sidelines like we pretty much did after Bush v. Gore?

They know they screwed up by voting their grievances and they are sorry now because they did not want Trump to win. I just had Thanksgiving dinner with three of them.

But I think it is better to know the truth, especially if Russian hacking was involved. Knowledge is better than ignorance and the endless conspiracy theories.

I don't think their being armed is an indicator of an armed insurrection or anything like that.

No one is a winner until certification and vote by EC.
The media once again has failed by declaring a winner way too early and not informing Americans as to how the system works

I am glad you have the luxury of being so skeptical. I cannot. I will be homeless next year if Cheeto and Ryan are in office. This is life or death for some of us.

The Trumpanzees proved throughout the campaign that they are capable of violence. And I'm pretty sure Lyin' Ryan's repuke House majority is secure.

the possibility.... albeit very remote.... that some innocent mistake was made and all those people really were too shy to talk to pollsters and all is right with the world after all.

Another success would be .... evidence gathered to effect change down the line - momentum grows and public demands secure hack-proof elections. What if enough evidence and popular support emerges that people who may be in a position to talk get the courage to do so.

This isn't 2000 - there are nonpartisan computer security and electronic fraud experts who have been looking at this stuff for years and the atty's involved are the ones who've been working on 2004 Ohio - they would know what to look for.

This private funding of recounts is not a road we should go down. Administration and counting of elections should be left to the government aparatus. Otherwise, we will be ruled by corporations to a degree we never imagined possible.

Most states have a standard for how close an election must be before they will do a recount themselves. The vulgar talking yam's margins in WI, MI and PA, narrow as they are, exceed them, so any recount must be paid for with outside $$$.

If we're going to have privately funded recounts, why not just go all the way give each side all the ballots, have their experts count and see if they come to an agreement.
It would be a popular idea since it would save tax dollars.

However I don't think people can really rig elections. I just don't think this is going anywhere. But if they find something, I'll be very grateful they were more skeptical about the election results than I am and I will be ridiculously happy. And some other people will find themselves in prison.
