Thank God Trump is here to save us by putting a Goldman Sachs executive as Secretary of our Treasury. He's such a maverick outsider!

Instead of build a wall and drain the swamp, just be efficient and build the swamp. You know, since we should conserve wetlands.

really make a dent outside the right wing bubble.

Although the takeaway from that might be if you give people something big, bold, clear ideas on actual POLICY, they will ignore the smears.

....by a newbie who enumerated Hillary's weaknesses as a candidate, among them the crime of being under investigation (he may even have said indictment) by the FBI. Etc.

Hillary had lots of policies, well articulated, very big. She said them out loud. She published them on her website in great detail. She put out ads where they were laid out more simply. She spoke about them in public.

What she did not do was BELLOW and GROWL. She didn't speak in words of one syllable. Finally, she failed (FAILED, I tells ya!) to get 2 billion dollars worth of free air-time.

So you've got the guy who bellowed and growled and spoke in words of one syllable and got all the free advertising in the world. Enjoy.

Like when the pastor start shouting, waving his Bible, and mopping his brow at church. Most people don't know what the hell he's saying but they think, "Damn, he's sure on fire about whatever he's saying."

Some candidates were weaker than others in key areas.

Hate was a given in this election. And every election.

Populism and perceived honesty/outsider status was not.

It came down to NAFTA, in my opinion. Right or wrong, Her husband signed it, and it lost her the election.

Do some research into exit polls. The primary issues were economy, foreign policy, immigration, and terrorism.

Trade didn't even make the top 10.

Contrary to popular opinion here on DU, Clinton actually won with voters who felt the economy was the primary concern, including the Rust Belt. She also won with those who considered foreign policy a priority.

Trump won, surprise!, with those concerned with immigration and terrorism.

I had concerning who is really backing Trump. He's a populist!

A billionaire faux populist catering to Tea Party populist millionaires
and corporate profits and polluters and federal asset thiefs.

The public is too stupid to figure it out.

Just like Obama ran on reform and put Geitner in at Treasury.

Reform can't happen because you need a crash and financial reform
to do so, but you can't do that in the short term because the economy
runs on money and credit. So no reform allowed.

Trump is there for Corporate Grifters and vulture capitalists who want
our parks, lands, drill baby drill. Plus they can sell the federal assets to
themselves, or lease them away so taxpayers have to pay for them all the
time.

I'm really expecting Teapot Dome: The Sequel
