We, along with our allies, came to Germany's rescue from Hitler.

Who will help to rescue the US if we keep heading down into the pit in which we are rapidly descending? I'm thinking this truly is the start of WWIII. There are idiots who are being installed who would like nothing better than to start a new world war. One has even stated as such, and the Trump-loyal military brass he is trying to install does not bode well for any adherence to the Constitution or Bill of Rights that currently exist.

I'm worried sick over this. I can't believe we have nobody with enough money and/or power enough to pull the people together to fight this. We need someone with money AND power loyal to sanity, our Constitution, and the rule of law who could pull something together, give us leadership, insight, and drive action that will defeat these idiots.

Thoughts?

Cheney ran rip shit over the US when in power. And Trump/Pence are far worse. Forget the US, I think Trump wants to rule earth.

The rest of the world will let us stir in our own juices. After all we're the cause of most of the world's misery. Look at Chile and Afghanistan - both peaceful producing countries until we intervened and installed murderous dictators like Pinochet in power. Now we're going to get a taste of our own medicine. I don't think there is going to be a coalition to remove Trump from power. This is going to be a "don't say we didn't warn you" administration.

Trump/Pence and their cohorts. I think much of the US is woefully uneducated in understanding what is happening, and far too gullible, naive and trusting. History serves up a good lesson. I was reading someplace that Merkel and Germany are now seen even more as leaders of the west/free world, not the US, with the installation of the Trump/Pence regime.

Germany wasn't rescued from Hitler. They were rightfully punished for embracing him and his policies. To say that the ordinary Germans weren't willing participants in the regime is re-writing history. It was the common people who were out there on the streets and enforcing his policies. We rightfully cost them a generation of their children.

Trump is not a Hitler. He's some little strongman wannabe who needs constant validation from the public. Unlike Hitler, he lacks any sort of vision, ideology and an inner circle that a complement his weaknesses. It's doubtful he can make Rhode Island listen to him if he made a demand, much less the country at large.

I don't think Trump could lead shit. He's only interested in the money his tiny hands can grab, but those other people are the ones interested in the power.

... people who have a lot of contempt for each other. As far a pragmatic optimism, I think we're more likely to see an administration with no uniformity ... instead we'll have one where the individual members undermine each other as they jockey for position. Plus, Trump has a habit of flying off the handle even with mild criticism, which may lead him to fighting with the GOP more than Democrats for the next four years.

I've heard some say that the Democrats should be as hardline as the Republicans have been the last four years, but why? It looks like there is an opportunity to play Trump and his own party off against each other. There's already two Republicans, McCain and Graham, who have been pretty vocal about how they're not afraid to part ways with Trump, particularly over trade and immigration.

But Democrats being Democrats, they'll find some way to undermine themselves. Always seems to happen.
