Trump and GOP could create a populist revolt?

They are sowing the seeds.

It is not possible to defeat their agenda with moderate promises. They must be defeated by a populist, very progressive agenda that challenges everything they are attempting to do.

The more people suffer, the more hardships they face, the more popular is a progressive message. That is a reality, in my opinion.

The Republicans hold the keys to the kingdom. If they govern true to their nature, people will suffer. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and they have something close to absolute power.

All movements in this country, including the New Deal, began because those in power treated the common man like dogshit on the bottom of his shoe.

And will never see the liberal as being right about anything.

But I am all for it, we will have to do it without most of the republican base, though.

either actual or brewing, as demonstrated by both Senator Sanders' successes, and trump's. It's foolish to not recognize it, and for progressives to not take advantage of it.

Onward.

if we can position it as a new movement -- get away from any left/right liberal/conservative propaganda and shift it to a new, us (the 99%) vs. them (the 1%), then i think we can draw in a lot of the people who are otherwise alienated from us from the years of propaganda.
