We know he and his staff want desperately to normalize relations with Moscow, but Trump himself admitted that Russia, and his friend Putin, are an enemy player to our democratic sovereignty.
Before this week, Trump had the cover of ignorance to allow that he plan a softening of strategic and economic barriers with Russia. There was even discussion of withdrawing NATO defenses from Eastern Europe, either by demand or signing out of the treaty.
Now, knowing what we and the incoming president absolutely know, when Trump starts blustering about how smart Putin is and how he flatters him regularly, it should raise eyebrows on both sides of the political aisle. In a just society, Trump will now have no choice but to show his comrade BFF the coldest of shoulders and even abide by covert countermeasures.
Remember when Republicans thought even the omission of a lapel pin flag was akin to high treason?

(13,186 posts)Yep, in theory, Trump's going to have to be mean to Putin or it will look like, well, what it is. So Putin's little trick may backfire on him.
Then, yeah, I remember the lapel pin flags. Will Republicans still wear them now that they know their control of the Presidency was a Russian machination?

(15,240 posts)I doubt Trump has anything on Putin. Besides having an enemy is good for business when your greatest investments and product is armaments. Trump's biggest mistake is being an amateur trying to manipulate a trained professional. Just because you can fool a few ignorant rubes and make promises to the party of criminals does not make you a genius.

Of course I don't know if there was communication, but I really suspect so considering how brash and reckless he is.

Only reason the hacking of the poorly defended DNC is discussed is that the loss by the Dems was so big that they are totally embarrassed!
Intelligence stated very strongly there was absolutely no evidence that hacking affected the election results. Voting machines not touched!
