Is their new media-strategy seriously that Donald Trump's real beauty is on the inside?

Conway said that we shouldn't care so much about what he says. It's what's in his heart that's important.

And Spicer said that Trump has this inner understanding what the american people really want.

"Oh, sure, he behaves like an asshole, but I know that deep down he's a sensitive person."

Yet another culture-trope to excuse the behaviour of abusive men.

Good times those. Looks like we need to bring W back to peer into Trump's soul and report back to us. BTW did Bush ever report his findings on Putin's soul back to the CIA or the FBI (or Homeland Security)?

So then I'm right about being wrong.

The Trump he observed was vulgar and vainglorious, a narcissistic liar with a short attention span, no appetite for reading books and an “extremely mixed” business record. A Trump presidency could, he warns, lead to martial law, the end of press freedom and the risk of nuclear war: “Staggeringly dangerous. Worse than I imagined when he began to run. Unthinkable. Horrifying. He’s way more out of control in the last couple of months than I’ve ever seen him. He doesn’t have any core beliefs beyond his own aggrandisement and power.”

or internal remote camera so we can actually take a look for ourselves at his heart instead of needing to trust Kellyanne?

(Side note, I snorted coffee through my nose this morning when someone on Twitter remarked "Kellyanne Conway: the female version of Anne Coulter"...although I feel really guilty because gender-shaming is bad.)

My view is that deep down inside is a frightened, insecure little boy who is afraid of his father.
