Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI think the executives at MSNBC are more excited about Greta starting her show on their network
than anyone who actually watches the network.
WTF?
A countdown clock?
really?
You think she's all that and a bag of chips?
MSNBC is dead to me.
Putting her and Carlson on air and NBC signing Kelly just makes me watch the net less and less.
It used to be on all the time in the background and now I just watch Chris Hayes and maybe Lawrence.
I used to watch Rachel too but her fawning all over Greta a week or two ago was the last straw
Fuck them all.

(7,770 posts)Can we be any more obvious about being collaborators. Sure throw us a bone with Rachel then make us throw up. So glad they are dead to me.

make sure everyone turns off MSNBC for this debut.
Let's rock their faith to the core.

(25,337 posts)They keep each movie on demand for only 7 days. So I gotta hurry up and watch them. When they have a rash of good movies, I'm stuck at home. LOL

(81,267 posts)I watched it and was thoroughly UN-impressed. There's nothing there. Nothing special. And then she has a final comment that's so damn tabloid-y that it sounds almost as though she's not aware she's not on Pox Noise anymore!
It was not an impressive debut, by any means. Totally unremarkable. Humdrum. And of course inviting Reince Priebus on as a guest, early in the show, was equally unimpressive, and unwelcome.
I may give it this week. But there's NOTHING there. Nothing stands out. Nothing draws your interest. Nothing compels you to tune in tomorrow or make a mental note to catch the show. Sheesh.
And while this is superficial as hell, and I'm one of the loudest critics of the whole slinky blonde cocktail-garbed, overly made-up leggy bimbo "anchor" "talent" - she is damn difficult to look at.
Chipper Chat
(9,679 posts)Weak, over-produced, stilted, mundane. She and Rinse yukked it up over football. Where's Dan Rather when we need him?
When she said "Now it's time for Hardball..." I thought "gee I just wasted an hour I could have been listening to some Miles Davis."
calimary
(81,267 posts)I know how I felt but I'm awfully negatively predisposed, already. Thanks for the second opinion! Sounds like you watched the same show I did. I, too, felt like I'd just wasted an hour. I could have been outside pulling weeds, or changing the cat box. Either option would have been far more rewarding! I think I even thought "gee, there's an hour of my life I can't get back..."
I also noted her comments in the press - "give me a chance!" Well, as I recall the context, she was addressing her Pox Noise constituency. WHY WAS SHE NOT ADDRESSING THAT APPEAL TO HER PROSPECTIVE NEW AUDIENCE??? Aren't WE the MSNBC viewers the ones she should be trying to appeal to? NOT a case of - "well, let's transplant the stuff I did over there to over here now! Let's give them 'another view'!" That always irritates me, those who claim we should include all the CON viewpoints and let them in, because, well, because. "Don't you want to hear another view on that?" "Shouldn't we open it up and consider other sides to the issue?" Answer: NO! If I wanted the other side, I know where I could easily find it. I can go watch Pox Noise. I watch MSNBC to GET AWAY from that shit. I watch MSNBC BECAUSE of the liberal slant - which certainly doesn't get a fair hearing from those same "don't-you-want-to-hear-a-different-view?" folks. I watch MSNBC because it's a "home" for my liberal views where they're supported and validated, NOT attacked. So why does it seem like they're trying to force-transplant it over here into MY "home"? I don't want it!
There was NOTHING there. She brought NOTHING to the table. Totally underwhelming. Seemed like she just transported her Pox Noise show over to MSNBC and figured that'd be enough. And okay, a segment from Brett Favre, calling in to massage her ego? Oh whoop-de-doo. Stop the presses. More like - STOP THIS SHOW that's already stillborn, and bring in somebody who really matters - whose presentation really matters: Joy Reid.

(1,979 posts)So she already believes AND SPREADS lies and bullshit spewed by a racist bully who has stolen millions from the brainwashed cult members and devestated families By making them have abortions and disconnect from their family members. DM, head of the cult, maintains control by beating the shit out of people or throwing them out on the street with no money no skills and no education.
THIS is what MSNBC is giving us as a present after the horrific results of this election?
I've watched MSNBC for years, now I am DONE. And thinking long and hard about boycotting the advertisers too. IM SO CLOSE TO SHUTTING DOWN CABLE......SO CLOSE.
WTF is happening to my precious country? It just makes me weep.

(53,339 posts)McCain and Priebus could have been good segments, but she didn't challenge them on anything. For someone who claims to be all about facts, they were few and far between on her first outing.

(653 posts)How come these so-called execs from the network keep trying and trying, and trying, and trying to woo the illusive "conservative viewer" to their network when these people have written them off as The Devil incarnate years ago.
These viewers find glee in the decreasing ratings of the networks that keep wooing, and wooing, and wooing them. Meanwhile ignoring and alienating their liberal viewers which have been their base all along. It's a failed strategy from the outset.
This is why I say set the entire MSM on fire. Ever since Bush II I've been upset with them and wish they ALL would flop.
