I think I'd rather drink melted fat than bourbon, but a nice scotch whisky wouldn't have been turned away. The problem was with my wallet being elsewhere.

12. I drank a killer mint julep about 2 weeks ago... watched my neighbor make it from scratch...

complete with sterling silver cups and a "muddler" (wooden tool used to mash the mint in the sterling cup without scratching it).... I have to admit that was a DELICIOUS drink!

I would not want to go through all the trouble, though... she started with crushed ice in a canvas bag, tied up.... used a mallot to pound it 'just right'.. the canvas absorbs some water in the ice, so the ice is more dry and perfect to be placed in the silver cup, over the mint that has been "muddled" to within an inch of its life.. I could go on, there is "simple syrup" also, that is poured in the cup before the bourbon NOT after, etc.

What a ritual... I videotaped it.

Disabled and SSDI is 10Grand a year. $16 a month Foodstamps. If Ryan gets his way my SSDI will be $5Grand a year. These money begs make me wince.
