Vo Ban Tam, a Viet Cong veteran, remembers the first time he crossed paths with John Kerry on the banks on the Bay Hap river, a day that ended in bloodshed.
Almost half century later, the Mekong delta shrimp farmer, now 70, has locked eyes with the US secretary of state as they warmly grasped hands in mutual respect.
Kerry returned to the Bay Hap river at the end of a visit to Vietnam, less than a week before he leaves office, looking for the spot where he won a Silver Star medal for bravery as a young navy lieutenant.
On 28 February 1969 as the skipper of Swift boat PCF-94, Kerry on patrol when Vos unit launched an ambush.

Worse than a simple mistake, more like a criminal action. Thats how I feel even to this day

a priest with the marine officer I knew then that Jim had been killed. Poor guy didn't
even make it to 19. And to think Nixon kept that war goung another 5 years and
in the end signed the exact same deal that was on the table in 1968.
BTW in 2004 I was honored enough to get and meet 2 of the people who served with
Kerry on the swift boat. John Kerry was and is the real deal and a hero.
The idea that we are now going to get an insane con man who is owned by Putin/Russia
as President/CiC, after the dirtiest election ever is something I still can't process.

Sanity, knowledge of the world governments and how they work, a history of being a good person, not a dolt like tRump and on and on

for the Russians and their money along with that phony TV show "The Apprentice"
he would be nothing.
I really wonder just how long the Russians and Putin have been cultivating him
in order to do their bidding?

We're fucked! To put it mildly
