Of course, Russia would try to interfere with US elections

but its treasonous for an American to help Russia undermine the American Republic.
Trump was not merely the lucky recipient but active in the process. His team told americans to look at wikileaks TOMORROW to see trash on Clinton.

About how this all happened.

My husband asked how did Obama ever get elected twice, when republicans will use so many questionable means to get elected?

My answer to him...the difference was in Obama's opponents.

John McCain, nor Mitt Romney, would NEVER have teamed up with Russia to win.

The exchange between McCain and the town hall lady who called BHO a "muslin terrorist" says a lot about how political discourse has been destroyed by the likes of McConnell, Boehner, and Ryan. IIRC, he said something to the effect of "no...no...he's not an enemy. He's a decent man and we have have different views of how this country should go forward but I have no doubt he loves this country as much as I do" (in reference to BHO).

It's easy to fall into the personalization of one's political point of view but in the grand scheme of things, McCain and Romney are probably good guys. Certainly in comparison to the likes of Trump/Bannon/Conway/Flynn/etc. McCain/Romney policies sucked wind in a big way but they're not, at the core, bad people.

In contrast - we have Trump. The right wing has spent 8 years telling people that BHO "Hates America" calling every action "traitorous". RW media, by portraying BHO as the traitor, made it ok to really put a traitor in the Oval.

That's how we got Trump. Through bullchit day in, day out repetition of the the lies about BHO, they normalized having a traitor in the office...now it's just a matter of fulfilling that promise.

trump 'might' have been a lucky recipient of the bad will cast on Clinton except he knew about it before it happened which means he wasn't a lucky recipient, he was complicit.

I do believe that Bernie was a lucky recipient and not complicit.
