That links tRump campaign to working with the Russians.
And when it does will tRump be able to contain it to beneath him. Blame others?
I, like many if you, have every finger and toe crossed hoping a big shoe drops soon.

(28,136 posts)So you think all agencies are in on the cover up?
Maybe but just curious.

(30,481 posts)Holt had some scathing commentary on Trump during the campaign. He would absolutely cover it if verified. He has discussed the document currently making the rounds.

(54,770 posts)You'd think with all the accusations, there would be something. Heck, the 20 something women that said he groped or outright raped them, just disappeared after the elections.
I know some of the accusations have to be true, but where is the hard evidence. Of course, his supporters won't care if the find videos of him with Putin.
LaydeeBug
(10,291 posts)wow. just wow.

(28,136 posts)It's horrendous though.
We need proof of contact with Russia and what information was exchanged.
LaydeeBug
(10,291 posts)the idea that your parameter is that you need to know what they talked about is absolutely crazy.
But whatever dude.

(28,136 posts)All the "whatever dude" won't change circumstantial evidence to hard evidence.

I don't get your attempt at antagonism towards me.

(54,770 posts)but so far, there is no proof he did anything more than some business deals with Russia. Again, with all the accusations, someone has to have photos, documents, etc. The fact there was a dossier, doesn't mean a lot.

(5,586 posts)He was looking at the possibility of a Trump hotel is Moscow or St. Petersburg.
And none of that is illegal. Even if he met with Putin himself on a potential deal. If he was just a hotel operator / owner, I wouldn't even care.
THe only thing that would be remotely illegal is if his campaign actively sought out the help of the Russian intelligence.
Hoyt
(54,770 posts)as far as spreading rumors. I get Trump deserves it and people are upset with the election results, but we need more.

(30,481 posts)He would have been required to report it. People would probably even find more disgust with it.

(985 posts)It would have been warranted and now I fear that once Trump has the power to order surveillance of his enemies we will be entering a new environment and it's not going to be a remotely fair playing field.

After Friday, nothing will come of it. It will all be suppressed.

(985 posts)I'm not optimistic, at this point, of Trump's misdeeds taking him down. The fact that half the population is spun by Fox and orchestrated internet/social media sources is a ripe environment for him to get away with nearly anything. Nixon only came down because John Dean was in his inner circle and was willing to tell the truth (unlike all of Nixon's other lackeys).
A significant part of the population is sold on Trump's claims of bogus jobs created and discount practically any criticisms against him as coming from a biased liberal media. There's a steady drumbeat of disinformation from alternative media sources that didn't exist in Nixon's area, and that props Trump up.
Would Nixon have tried anything as ham handed as holding a press conference where he wheeled out thousands of empty folders that purported to show work he'd done against corruption? That dumbed down prop wouldn't have worked then, the press wouldn't have stood for it.
We live in a dumbed down reality show era with a fragmented, disempowered press, and I don't have faith in Trump and Bannon not continuing to exploit it. It's shocking that they've gotten this far and once they have their hands on the instruments of power, they're going to be more formidable.

What he CAN do is make sure people find out what he is hiding regarding his deals there and in China. that can get out without people blaming him at all.
