Sorry Folk The GOP Is Going To Kill ACA No Matter How Many Americans Die.

No amount of pleading, protesting, or petitioning the GOP is going to kill you anyway. The GOP is a homicidal party and we just let them go along believing the usual governing ways will work. Well the GOP has pretty much destroyed all that.

All you have to look at is how they have been acting as the inauguration approaches. They are using all the tactics the Nazis used.

It will be based on his HHS and Ryan's proposals. It is privatization, and it will be bad

Here are five key planks in his own health care proposal:

1.Price's plan offers fixed tax credits so people can buy their own insurance on the private market. The credit starts at $1,200 a year and rises with age, but isn't adjusted for income. Everyone receives the same credit whether they are rich or poor. People on Medicaid, Medicare, the military health plan known as Tricare, or the Veterans Affairs' health plan could opt instead for the tax credit to buy private insurance.
2.Price advocates for expansion of health savings accounts, which allow people to save money before taxes to pay for health care. This includes allowing people who are covered by government health programs including Medicare and the VA to contribute to health savings accounts to pay for premiums and copayments. These proposals are included in Ryan's plan.
3.People with existing medical conditions couldn't be denied coverage under Price's plan as long as they had continuous insurance for 18 months prior to selecting a new policy. If they didn't, then they could be denied coverage for that condition for up to 18 months after buying a new plan.
4.The Price proposal limits the amount of money companies can deduct from their taxes for employee health insurance expenses. Companies can deduct up to $20,000 for a family health insurance plan and $8,000 for an individual. The goal is to discourage companies from offering overly generous insurance benefits to their workers. Ryan's plan proposes a cap on the employer tax deduction but doesn't specify the level of the cap.
5.States would get federal money to create so-called high-risk pools under Price's plan. These are government-run health plans for people with existing medical conditions who can't get affordable health insurance on the private market. Critics say high-risk pools have been tried in as many as 34 states and largely failed because they were routinely underfunded.

The people who are on because of medicaid expansion. They are in the income group that turns out at very low levels in elections so they can probably cut them off easily. Do it like they have done abortion, make it more restrictive and more restrictive over time till they are all gone. Won't hurt them politically.

They they will try to keep the people on the exchanges happy longer since they are higher income and vote.

15. This is their chance to kill medicare...
Mon Jan 16, 2017, 01:49 AM
Jan 2017

I have VA and Medicare, so Obamacare has nothing to do with me. How the VA works is simply that my VA expenses are picked up by medicare to the extent covered. What's not covered under Medicare is still covered by the VA. I still can, and do, go to non-VA providers under Medicare.

The VA covers drugs, though. But, they have to be prescribed by VA doctors and distributed by VA pharmacies. And there is a small copay. Most of my meds are generic, but insulin is the big ticket item and covered by VA. A small problem is that if I want to buy metformin locally at even less than the VA copay, I have to get a prescription from a non-VA doctor. PITA, but it works out OK.

Now, the geniuses running the Republicans these days are looking to upset the whole mess. If anyone wanted to really straighten things out, it could be done over years, but these guys are chomping at the bit for an excuse to dump Medicare and Medicaid. I don't think they really understand the VA system, but kneejerk at cheering anything military related.

So, I fear they will try to kill both, with disastrous results.

Wait until they find out about the Indian Health Service and the US Public Health Service.

^snip^

The Trustees of the Medicare program have released their annual report on the solvency of the program. They calculate that the program is “expected to remain solvent until 2024, the same as last year’s estimate.” But what that headline obfuscates is that Obamacare’s tax increases and spending cuts are counted towards the program’s alleged “deficit-neutrality,” Medicare is to go bankrupt in 2016. And if you listen to Medicare's own actuary, Richard Foster, the program's bankruptcy could come even sooner than that.

How dare those freeloading soldiers think they can go out and sponge off the taxpayer just because they got shot in a war, blown up in a training accident, or contracted food poisoning from eating in the mess hall. Come to think of it, why are those useless government employees under the impression they can get by without paying for the food they eat in the chow halls or paying rent for their barracks rooms?*

I know this because as ACA came in everything that came into it came into my Medicare also. Now when congress just also voted to take down Medicare and Medicaid along with ACA it is obvious it has been intertwined. Another thing that scares me is they want to dismantle things like SSDI and if that is gone I am 100% screwed because I am not able to work because of disability. If I have NO money how do I get tax credit for health insurance? I know the answer, I DON'T. I know there are millions of people who are in the same place as I am and also who will have it worse. I get told by some my Medicare is not part of it but I have seen way to much going into Medicare along with the opening of ACA to not be intertwined. I have benefited from that mixture of the two.

for repeal unless there is a better plan to replace the ACA. You only need 2-3 Pubs not to vote in favor of any bill and they can't get to the 51 majority, even WITH Pence as President of the Senate, and I know there are more than 3 dissenters. I think there's a strong possibility they will never find a plan that's even equal to the ACA let alone be better, cheaper, and have better coverage, thus the ACA will never be overturned.
