Anyone Want To Bet On How Long The Republicans Will Keep The Congressional Budget Office?
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates the costs of changes to government programs. For years, Republicans have put out their 'magic faerie dust' budgets, where tax cuts for the wealthy will result in magical, 50% GDP growth rates; and the CBO has been throwing ice water on them by....*ghasp*....telling the truth.
For years, Congressional Republicans have been trying to get the CBO to use 'dynamic scoring' (aka faerie dust), and they've kept on saying "no, we'll just stick to the truth, thank you."
The CBO just concluded that if the Republicans repeal Obamacare, it will result in 18 million people losing their insurance, and premiums GOING UP by 20-25% for those who still have policies.

So....now that they've got total control of the Federal Government...how long do you think the CBO will last? Within a matter of months, they'll either eliminate it, or staff it with 'trick-down,' 'supply side economics' loyalist apparatchiks. Let's not let that go un-noticed.
I think the same thing will happen to PBS and NPR fairly soon, too.
