The Republicans will threaten the "nuclear option" on Gorsuch.

Let them.

Ignore them.

For those Democrats that think they should stop the nuclear option this time, they should understand that it is much more likely they will use it the next pick, especially if they are replacing a liberal on the court. That is the pick that would put their political agenda in concrete. It would be a mistake to fall for the "nuclear option" excuse.

No doubt, Trump will be pushing McConnell to go "nuclear". McConnell will argue that they may pick up enough Senators in the next election to make it a moot point?

The Republicans have a large majority in the House and a workable majority in the Senate. It would be unwise for them to go "nuclear" at this time.

Democrats should fight Gorsuch at least for the next 10 months. The people will understand that fight. It is totally unpredictable where the Republicans will be, or where our country will be, 10 months down the road, with Donald Trump running the show?

It's all going to be bad, far better if we have nothing to do with it.

The best way to demotivate your base is to give up on something so important to them.

Someday, Democrats will be back in power and can you imagine the progress that could be made without a filibuster.

We just need to figure out how to win elections without the "no difference" idiots that have cost us much progress since 2000, if we do that, not having the filibuster will be an excellent advantage as we push progress once we gain the coming permanent majority. On Gorsuch, his extremism may prompt a person like Justice Roberts to moderate and join with liberals to prevent gross changes like overrule of Roe v Wade and changes to SS and basic immigrant human rights.

Let turtle man twist in the wind. If he invokes it, we can be an opposition Party. If he doesn't, the Tea Party will Hillary for his hide.

If we try to compromise, they will screw us. Better to die on your feet than live on your knees. They are going to get slaughtered in the midterms

The genie is out of the bag and won't be put back in. As Trump and republicans carry out attacks on women, LGBTQ Individuals, SS and Medicare, Obamacare, immigrants, jobs, they will create the conditions for permanent Democrat rule if we get our message right and drop the stupid "no difference" idiots (learn not to count on the unreliable. Using the nuclear option will come back to permanently haunt republicans. My biggest concern with Gorsuch is that he can be on the bench for 30 to 45 years, esasily - the one hopeful thing is that he interned for Supreme Court liberal (Byron White) and Anthony Kennedy - but his bench record is extreme. Another hope for the Court is that if Gorsuch is extreme, John Roberts will moderate and start voting with liberals on issues like over turning Roe v Wade.

There's even a chance that he goes full-nuclear, meaning getting rid of the filibuster for everything. You know Trump is going to push for it.
