This article is from a year ago, but the question remains pertinent.

snip:
Reporters killed.
Combining data from two nonprofits that records violations of press rights (the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists and the Moscow-based Glasnost Defense Foundation), we found that at least 34 journalists have been murdered in Russia since 2000
Their names and the circumstances of their deaths can be found at the link, along with more information on the subject.
Are American journalists critical of Putin in danger?

I can't help but think, why not a two-fer in the USA? Blow up a news bureau or two, get this apocalypse rolling for real -
(ps I hope to hell not, but - well, here we are -)

(12,154 posts)but I had to take a break. Holy crap! After reading just part of it, I'd put nothing past Putin. With trump and his minions in charge, anything can happen.
Back to the article. Thanks...I guess.

(13,524 posts)actually lived through that - it's a remarkable post and has been a touchstone for more than a few of us on here...if I'm breaking any rules or such by reposting it here, then alert on me, send me demerits, and shun me if I'm doin a bad thing

(12,154 posts)Wow, that was blood curdling to read, but what an eye opener!
I am going to save it and pass it around.
Thanks again, Leghorn.
It has left me almost speechless.

(13,524 posts)touchstone - both GG and Alex are international heros, as far as I'm concerned, and they flippin well know what they're talkin about -

(21,088 posts)It's not prudent in this environment. I've scrubbed a number of my posts describing them, both here and on Facebook. Suffice to say that if I think seriously about my conclusions for an hour, I'm awake half the night with cold sweats.
We're at a turning point in history right now. It's going to happen at the speed of electrons, and none of us - not even Alex and I - are prepared for it. I don't know if preparation even possible.
Leghorn21
(13,524 posts)can speak freely? Do you fear those of us here will flip out and panic? You seem to be protecting us by "scrubbing" what you know, and how kind of you that is (truly) - but just look at this last week, word is getting out, even Malcolm Nance is talking about Alexandre Dugin on cable news as of tonight - ?
I guess what you are keeping to yourself is not something that truth or knowledge about will stop dead in its tracks...no sudden good ideas, plans, even "miracles"? It's too late, we're all too late...? Well, you certainly must act according to your inner lights, my friend - and no matter the outcome, I and many others appreciate you and - well, I will end here, sending you gratitude and wishing you all the best, GG -

(21,088 posts)I'm not protecting you by scrubbing my posts - I'm protecting myself. There are a lot of unknown ears out there, and even though I live in Canada I fear long unknown arms. Because if I'm right, the events I expect are big enough that they would be protected at all costs. Yes, people are getting it, but nobody is following the chain of logic to its conclusion yet - at least not in public. I don't want to go first. In retrospect I shouldn't have said what I did once or twice, and I'm glad the main post got alerted on and hidden.
I will at least keep hinting about and alluding to things that are the sum of all my fears so long as DU stays up.
Thanks again, it's gratifying to have some people get it.

(12,154 posts)I wish more people could read what Alex and GG have to say! I'm still gobsmacked - and so glad I now know what I know.

(21,088 posts)from a man who IMO really understands what's happening to the USA. His views and mine are very close, and are much darker than many on DU are comfortable with.
I arrived at my conclusions independent of AlexSFCA, after researching the Dugin/Putin/Bannon/Trump web of nightmares. Refreshing my memory on the apartment bombings made my finally understand the extreme danger America faces in the next short while. Putin has geopolitical goals, so I think no stakes are too high for him - especially if they involve someone else's country.
frogmarch
(12,154 posts)The Trump/Putin connection has become more terrifying to me, now that I have this new-to-me information.
I wish you and AlexSFCA would share your information and insights with our congressional representatives AND with the media - and with everyone else you can think of.

(12,154 posts)Of course it would be. Sorry! I had a mental disconnect from the premise of my very own thread!
I think I need to watch a Hallmark movie and get some zzzzzz.

(61,695 posts)Probably won't survive this last poisoning. I suspect the pervasive organ failure will be too much for Vladimir Kara-Murza to endure since his last poisoning.
frogmarch
(12,154 posts)Vladimir Kara-Murza is in stable but critical condition and is still in a medically induced coma. I agree the organ failure is too severe for him to recover from this time. His wife spoke out, saying she believes both incidents were deliberate poisonings. I hope she's not next.

(39 posts)He was very critical of Putin, then he disappeared. Putin said he will investigate I believe. I think they are some very brave people to live in that country and leave flowers like that. This is right outside of red square, just past a very famous church.
