He's been used to always getting his way, in his business life and home life. A dictator who made people jump to attention. Nobody popped his balloons and life was pretty much the way he said it was. (Did that lead to his mental illness, or just make it worse?)
Now he's in a situation where that isn't going to happen--he isn't going to control his reality. As Obama said, there are constraints. He must do this, do that. He's got a lot of eyes looking at him, and a lot of them have power to rein him in, contradict him, disobey orders. Things like the Justice system! Usually when he got into a tight spot, he could maneuver out by lying, delaying, exaggerating, making empty promises and empty threats.
What does he do when it just doesn't work now? He attacks back, but the media doesn't care. It gives them another story to cover. He's got some of the Congress doing his bidding for now, but certainly not all, and he stands to lose more and more of them as time goes on and the public outcry gets louder. They will push back.
He's no intellectual. He watches cable news, and that gives him ideas about what to tweet next. It's been documented. He has already made some serious mistakes, and is bound to make more and more as the pressure gets worse.
He's got no political skills when it comes to dealing with educated and worldly wise people like other heads of state. All he's got is a con man's ability to fool gullible and uninformed people for a little while, just long enough to make the sale.
Emotionally he is an immature child with a weak attention span, touchy ego, and a mean, bullying nature. He has had little practice dealing with the realities of adult life, the kind where you can't lie or buy your way out of a tight spot.
I think he's going to crumble mentally and emotionally. Probably also physically. Then we will see what's to be done next.

(54,405 posts)These are not novel revelations. Plainly, much of the country didn't care them and still doesn't.
And they want to cut the education budget further, so we will have even more Trump voters going forward.
The USA is definitely going through a serious Suzy Creamcheese moment ("what's got into ya?"

(2,648 posts)Of the three, drumpf is the worst with the other two tied for a very, very close second.
Not one of them is presidential material.

(906 posts)Because he was different he wasn't a politician he had no experience "give him a chance to see what he can do"
I was like uh he has no experience would you have surgery with a doctor who had no experience no you would want one that had done multiple surgeries
or a mechanic to work on your car that had never worked on a car before?
That would be like saying stuff like " oh I own a car so I am sure fix what ever is wrong with it just give me a chance"
and as for giving him a chance to do what
Ruin our country -- Yep he is doing that alright
