General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsJoy Reid's show this morning (AM Joy) is a repeat. Why is that?
Thom Hartmann had said that MSNBC is turning more right-wing and it's head, Andy Lack, wants to turn the channel into another FOX-like channal.
With two female stars moving to MSNBC from FOX and snaring huge contracts -- and with MSNBC refusing to give Joy a contract -- I am very concerned about the future of MSNBC.
I am not sure where to turn if MSNBC becomes another shill for right-wing causes.
Any thoughts? And if MSNBC does turn right-wing, what should our responses be?

On the other hand, it does seem there is news from yesterday. My recorder have screwed up. If so, I sure apologize for my incorrect conclusions.

(1,779 posts)Audience is three times as large as Trump's inauguration -- "Not to throw shade on it!"
and I sure clearly remember her intro of Bill Nye last week -- her emphasizing his use of the word "evolution" in the title of his book, Bill's views that over time the lies can't stand, that there is no single fact to change climate cable's views, but that it takes a lot of time, etc.
That all was from last week. Maybe she just started off her show replaying that portion, but I don't think so.

(8,541 posts)I've had my ups and downs with Don "good hair" Lemon but he generally has one or two black guests so that's good.

(35,454 posts)If they were smart and cared about ratings they wouldn't have Morning Swill on for three hours each day

(6,551 posts)MSNBC is first, a business. Their latest hires are unfortunate, but they are a business, not a political interest group. They think these moves with generate more profit, so they do it.
Me.
(35,454 posts)And while the ratings are terrible they have boosted ad rates. The reason...because DT watches the show. The same with O'Reilly.

(145,303 posts)AMJOY was showing the times that she interviewed each and every one of the few non-whites who showed up for Trump's black history event. AMJOY did a great job.
This was not a repeat and was one of her better shows and that is saying a great deal
