I hope there is a investigation into the death of the navy seal.

Something fishy going on. I am getting the feeling that trump just gave the go ahead for the operation without thinking things through. It sounded good so he went for it. I don't think he looks ahead.

I also believe trump does not feel remorse or empathy for people who get hurt or killed, like the navy seal. He only cares about himself. He has a empty soul. He truly is a narcissist.

He really wants to get to the bottom of this incident and see some heads roll!

3. I'm sure it will be investigated, at least internally, but it's not on Trump.

A president doesn't have the ability or resources to vet each mission. If some military/intelligence group presented a mission planned around half-assed intelligence, it's on them. If they don't know what intelligence to expect to gain, or what kind of resistance they might face, then they should do some more planning, not present it to the prez as a "go/no-go" decision.

4. The President still needs to trust the intelligence provided him.

If he was given bad intelligence, it's up to him to deal with that. If he was given limited intelligence, mixed with what he's supposed to know already from briefings, that's on him, or on the person who told him "we can do this with your signature..."

6. True, and I suppose he did trust the intelligence and the plan presented.

The mission was conducted, and cost one American military life, one aircraft, and the lives of some Yemeni soldiers and civilians. What did we get out of it? I think the gains will not be known outside the military/intelligence community.

I don't think Trump was responsible for any particular mishap in the mission, as Clinton did not cause death at Benghazi nor did Carter cause the failures in the embassy rescue attempt in Iran. Any military mission has unpredictable risk. I just hope he doesn't feel the need to over-escalate a response.

5. Obama had a big vetting process in place for operations like this one.

Many agencies were involved. Trump did this without his cabinet in place. Think about it.
