(182,829 posts)As a military guy his first instinct is to follow orders but also to make sure he's getting orders from his chain. On a MUCH lower level I can't tell you how many times I was told to do something in the Army and I deflected to my chain - it kills time and pits your cover against someone telling you what you don't want to do. Basically it's a "punt". Some I ended up doing but it was a way of telling NCO's I didn't care for to screw themselves.
The Trump damn has stepped out of their jurisdiction with several EO's. The wall is way outside of their jurisdiction as are the immigration ones. EO's should go through a review for legality, feasibility, and implementation. A major (and initial) part of legality is jurisdiction. THE someone basic question of "Can WE do this?" Morons.
