The first statements by manufacturers are now appearing on national TV: The victims brought this upon themselves by not acquiring suitable defensive tools and training.
As many of the victims were elderly, AARP defended their vulnerabilities by pointing out, for example, some victims lacked full flexibility in their index fingers, especially those with diabetes and suffered from "trigger finger" syndrome, and were unable to defend themselves. Clearly, those people did not cause their own problems. First to respond was the NRA: "if they had consumed sugar voluntarily and diabetes occurred, that was a choice that they made.
