I would couple that with the fact people under 30 don't know there was a time when each had to compromise and Democrats and Republicans did not always get what they wanted.

we've had a rising indifference to polical involvement in our population, especially among the young. Hopefully, enough people will get re-energized to chip in and fight this cycle of bullshit. If they don't, we're genuinely screwed for generations.
