The WH offered to send Kellyanne Bowling Green for an interview. They said no thanks. Here's the thread that gives more information on that.

This is a gutsy move that no one else is willing to do. She should not be given a platform by anyone with any journalistic integrity. Let's make sure they know we support them.

(3,569 posts)I say let them keep talking, tweeting, whatever. Every word, every lie, exposes them more and more. I would take this as the last opportunity to interview KAC, and just let her have it, until she walks off. Just blast her. "No, KAC, that is a lie", use tactics like telling truths instead of letting her (them) lie without impunity.

(9,524 posts)hard though since sometimes they need to fact check, which makes me think the best way is to pre-record and then call out lies as they play it. And if they know it's a lie without fact checking, they need to interrupt her; not just let her go on and on. We are in unprecedented waters, and i honestly don't know the best course. But good for CNN for standing up to her either way.

(13,776 posts)One reason is selfish--I just can't bear to listen to her. So I change the channel. So they lose a viewer, at least for one segment, and for longer if I stay on MSNBC or the BBC.
And another reason is that she's lying all over the place to all kinds of people, so they don't need to give her their valuable air time; they can just report later on what she said and how it's a lie. Saves all of us time, and doesn't give her a pulpit.

(50,955 posts)will always be enough Bowling Green-style fun to play with. But the fact that there is one media outlet that really seems to want to commit journalistic integrity is something I think we should encourage. Who knows, maybe it will lead to actual journalism happening on a regular basis?

(10,345 posts)All mainstream media are peddlers of drama and conflict and nothing more. If they shared REAL news, we would have had fair coverage of all candidates during the primaries, and orange ass face wouldn't have been the FRONT PAGE BREAKING HEADLINE of everyone's storefront.
CNN caused this shit and let me tell you a little secret!
They'll do it again.
They're only battling against Trump now because.... Conflict. It's scandal. It's ratings galore.
They know the fact that the true majority voted against Trump. They know they're in the prime position to look all righteous and mighty to the viewers now. So no, I won't thank any mainstream media for shit. They tell the news sure, but they'll focus on whatever benefits them, not the people as a whole. They're not doing this for us. They're doing this for the ratings.

(50,955 posts)money.
The media has ALWAYS only responded to ratings and money. There has never been a time when that was not true.
That actually gives us quite a lot of power if we are careful about what we watch and where we click, and if we encourage them every time they do something we are supportive of.
The poster's proposed action, which is to turn away from the major media in a snit, just gets us a lot more of what we don't want.

(81,320 posts)LOVE your screen name! I don't know, either. I would hope that trump's attacks on the media would motivate them all to stand together, in solidarity and support of each other. They're such spineless weasels, though. OH MY FREAKIN' GOD we don't DARE jeopardize our precious damn fucking ACCESS!!!!
Nice to see that at least some entity has decided not to put on their Presidential kneepads.

(9,670 posts)After Trump called their network "fake news", I would have gone incommunicado immediately.
There's obviously no love lost here.
It would truly be wonderful for CNN to become the voice of American dissent to this lunacy.

(81,320 posts)And thanks for joining the chorus of voices! The more we make ourselves heard, the better. Our protests and objections and complaints HAVE been noticed! I've personally noticed several reports popping up that contain wording along the lines of "Keep calling! It's Working!" or "Keep writing your reps! It's working!" I've noticed Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus bailing out on Ivana Trump's fashion lines. The Harley-Davidson people canceled a trump visit to their company and had to shuffle it to the White House grounds. Senators are commenting out loud about the avalanches of mail and email and messages. Sheldon Whitehouse even caved right on the spot when too many voices protesting him started chanting "Just Say NO!" after he waffled on voting against one of trump's nominees. They're taking notice. At Long Long Long Long Last. Some of the CONS, like Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, are actually hiding from their constituents!
It's becoming A Thing.
EVERYBODY - weigh in! And we should do likewise with MSNBC and NBC News.
If they think you don't care, they won't, either!
