ACT BLUE switched one-time contribution to recurring.

This is the second time this has happened. I only noticed it on the receipt email. I was careful not to CHOOSE the recurring option. It also happened with a friend's contribution.

I went directly to check my receipt. I also chose one time and happy to see that is what my receipt reflects.

Noticed that it was being debited for a couple of months. Contacted them and it stopped. Not sure what the deal is hete but I hope it's just an error.

They should change it back so that people have to pick recurring. ActBlue is honest, I have donated through them since they were a group of four or five people. Now, I think they are linked to the DNC and do national fundraising for all Democrats, well known and not. Big organizations like Democratic Presidential campaigns have their own donation collection, but ActBlue is critical to upstart Democratic candidates and can cover the range from Governor and US Senate races to local Democrats that sign their campaign up with them. I always leave a "tip" when I donate because it seems that is how ActBlue tries to cover it's expenses.

change it, but that would be harder. ActBlue has become the largest Democratic fundraising organization, their contribution screen used to be simple, but has become more complex, I think too complex.

I have contributed through ActBlue since it was a four or five person organization with nothing more than a webportal to solicit campaign donations. I think I took up with them during their first year of existence. I got a Christmas card once signed by it's entire staff a few years back. I think it is a bigger, far more computerized, micro targeting organization now that serves all Democratic candidates, no longer a handful of passionate Democrats wanting to insure that Blue candidates get campaign funds.

One thing that ActBlue started doing that they should undo, is setting the recurring monthly donation as the default - they should stop that asap.
