That is how this pastor believes and expresses himself. Others might call it pure evil, greedy human behavior at its worst, whatever they like.

My dad used to tell me how many religious people in Europe, even in Germany, believed that Hitler was the anti-Christ. He tried to get me to understand. Yes, I know that many people supported Hitler or remained quiet. Many just followed orders.

I see the anti-Semitism in European culture, so deeply embedded, as being akin to our racist history. Trump and his minions have capitalized on this, and all fears of The Other. They have capitalized on the fears of the poor and jobless. Even if we can never find common ground with those people, there are more of us than them. We need to put them back on the fringe where they belong.
