A story about one immigrant I knew-
He came here from a very poor country with nothing but the clothes on his back. He worked three jobs. He never got an apartment he just slept in his car. He used to offer to pay me a dollar to use the shower in my apartment. I let him use it free. He never did anything like order fast food or eat out. The guy never did anything at all but save every penny he made. He knew how to sacrifice. I visited him in one of the small stores he worked at one day. While I was in there this redneck said to him " You are what's wrong with this country. You lazy foreigners come over here and have everything just handed to you and then you steal our jobs." I was so ticked off when I heard him say that. The immigrant said nothing to the man but after he left he said " That man is very disappointed with himself." Such insight he had. Years later I saw the immigrant on a television show about self made millionaires. He had become a multi millionaire.
I think that the angry bigots get really angry when they see someone come here with no help at all and no family and just buckle down and make themselves the Great American Dream. It pisses them off that even with so much of a bigger head start they themselves were not able to accomplish it. What they do not understand is that dreams take sacrifices.
So now I look back and that immigrant and I remember his words. Yes they really are disappointed with themselves.

And ask him if you can borrow his pool like he used to borrow your shower.
