Pentagon reporter: I don't know any military commander who thinks Trump's plan is going to work

On the heels of President Donald Trump’s declaration that the United States must “start winning wars again,” CNN’s Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr revealed military leaders have a different opinion.

“There are a lot of questions about what the president means,” Starr told Wolf Blitzer. “He said he was taking this from watching the military during his days back in high school and college in his words when perhaps it was a much more clear time for military victories.”

Trump was in high school in the early 1960’s, following World War II and the Korean War. After Trump turned 18, he was eligible to fight in the Vietnam War but received four draft deferments for bone spurs and one deferment for an unknown reason.

Starr said that those wars had “major tank battles” and “major air battles” that delivered “overwhelming firepower.” Starr said that those wars had “major tank battles” and “major air battles” that delivered “overwhelming firepower.”

45 still doesn't understand terrorism. He thinks this is a physical war and he's Gen. Patton. And this is why so many of us think he's so dangerous.

I hope the generals hold him in check.

He can start firing Generals if they aren't willing to carry out his orders.

That may be one of the first warnings we get, if three and four star Generals start getting fired.

Real military commanders: unimpressed with the republican Draft-Dodgers lamebrain a-hole "ideas."

would come up to me and remind me how we would be winning the war if only the politicians would just get out of the way and let our military kill everything that was beyond the city gates. I had to tell them that the war was more about rice, rubber trees, oil and a way to keep Russia and China busy supplying the North and destroying Cambodia and Laos with bombing campaigns. While enriching our non combatant allies in the area chiefly Thailand and the Philippines... BTW Trumps 5th deferment was for Anorchia I am almost positive.
