A Scottsdale teacher has resigned after she reportedly tweeted out an allegedly offensive message about immigrants.

Bonnie Verne was a third-grade teacher at Pardes Jewish Day School.

The school sent a message Tuesday saying:

"PJDS informed the school community that teacher Bonnie Verne resigned due to comments she recently made on her personal Twitter account."

Here's someone who screenshotted this for Twitter (the teacher protected her tweets and that tweet has no doubt been wished out into the cornfields).

I'm glad she resigned and isn't infecting children with her presence any more, but what if she hadn't been so stupid? It's so sad to think of the little non-white children in her classroom who had to have her as a teacher.

I'd like to get some more context. Either way, she shouldn't have posted but it sounds like something folks here might throw out at Ann Coulter. I myself myself am guilty of making snide remarks pretty regularly. If taken in the wrong context, one might think differently about root meaning.

A Jewish day school teacher in Arizona resigned yesterday after tweeting that illegal immigrants should be killed, local 3TV reports.

The story begins with a photo of a man holding a sign saying “deport illegal aliens.”

“Or we can put a bullet in their head immediately,” the teacher, Bonnie Godin Verne replied.

In another tweet, she similarly admonished her Twitter followers not to deport illegal aliens but instead to “just kill them.”
