who go on and on about the heat of combat, and how thrilling it would be, and how well they would do - but who will never join up to find out in real life.

Their dicks get hard just thinking of blowing things up and shooting people - but are too chicken-shit to join or have all manner of excuses as to why they couldn't serve.

Losers who would have a 15 minute survival rate on the battlefield, IF (and that's a big if) they could make it through basic.

Trump thinks his time at a military high school prepared him for the real thing. That's like riding a merry-go-round and thinking you're ready for the Kentucky Derby.

Fuck Trump. Fuck all chairborne rangers.

then again, they sit idly by when he trashes John McCain or outs secret service agents carrying nuclear codes.

Yet another example of, it's ok if trump says it.

That doesn't mean they don't have an opinion. Having been married to someone in the military, I hate generalizations or slamming of the military.

we were winning wars." Never mind that when trump was in college we were in the middle of Vietnam. And losing badly. What is he smoking if he thinks we were winning back then?

And there is an implied notion that IF ONLY WE PUT MORE MONEY in the military kitty we'd start winning again. As if we haven't spent enough already.

You fuck! YOU WEREN'T THERE

In the context/flow of his remarks he implied he was in the battlefield and how many idiots will automatically think that he's a decorated Veteran now!

Oh wait he has a Purple Heart facsimile that a cult member gave him at a campaign speech. That's the ticket!

is going through Mattis' head when tRump says these things? Do you think he is biting completely through his tongue? He might just have to step in there and slap tRump around a little.

Trump Asks, ‘If We Have [Nuclear Weapons], Why Can’t We Use Them?’, 8/3/16
During a foreign policy briefing several months ago, Trump asked three times in an hour, "If we have them, why can't we use them?"

He doesn't understand US history and military involvements since World War 2. The Allies won WW2 because it was a fight against 3 nation states with clear cut goals. Our policy since then, including our involvement in Korea, Vietnam, The Balkans, Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan have been vague and open ended. We have gotten involved in conflicts claiming "national security" when there is no relationship between what we are doing in those countries, and our national defense. We got involved in 2 civil wars (Korea & Vietnam), one of which is still officially on (Korea), and the other in which the country as a whole had been fighting "foreign invaders" for 1000 years. What was there to "win" in those wars. We sent soldiers into "peacekeeping" missions without a plan to be in and out (Kosovo & Mogadishu) so we just kind of left. We invaded Afghanistan to capture Bin Laden and remove the Taliban, who had been harboring him. While we were initially successful in pushing back the Taliban, we just plain stopped going after Bin Laden, then just allowed ourselves to get bogged down in a region known as "the graveyard of empires". We invaded Iraq for no good reason, then again, got bogged down in a civil war. We are involved in Syria (civil war), Yemen (civil war), and Trump wants to take us to war against Iran and North Korea too. For what? To win? What will we win? What is the end game?

Like I said, he is just an idiot with no understanding of history.
