Poll: Should Julian Assange Be Extradited to the United States for Prosecution?

It's a simple question, really. If what got dumped about the CIA is accurate, then it represents probably the most damaging revelations about that agencies operations conceivable, and will do enormous harm to that agency's ability to collect intelligence.

That seems worthy of prosecution to me. So, what do you think?

It's so confusing. But, maybe the alt-right and alt-left are really hard to tell apart. Maybe that's it, eh?

I think justice is a wee bit more critical than simplistic perception and commercial branding.

into the things the government doesn't want to get into. Assange will probably not be extradited to the U.S.

But he's not currently wanted by the U.S. He has effectively emasculated himself by betraying those who put up bail for him and running to hide in an Ecuadorian embassy.

I say let Sweden and the U.K. pursue their charges against him. That should put him out of everyone's way for quite a while longer.

Can you specify the crime you have in mind.

Assange is not a US citizen or resident, and has no legal duty in relation to CIA materials.

I thought of that option, too.

However, an espionage charge could still be brought. Our espionage laws do not exclude prosecution of foreign nationals on those charges.

I created a poll. One of the options in that poll covers your objection. You could vote on that option. It's just a DU poll. It doesn't really matter, now, does it?

Do you mind if I comment on posts at DU as I see fit?

He's not a citizen and hasn't been charged with anything. Also the only reason he -asked- to be 'extradited' here is because he & Wikileaks are in bed with Trump & Putin and nothing will happen.

I say send him to Sweden where he can face the very real charges of sexual assault.
