Spoke to my brother after Christmas and the topic of the orange-headed Twitler Hitler naturally came up. Told me one of his neighbors was a BIG fan of that shit-gibbon; and a loud and obnoxious fan to boot. Trump was going to shake things up, kill that damn socialist Obamacare, make America great again, "He says what he means!", bring back American jobs, and bring back fucking coal! And don't we all know a reality-defying, brick-stupid imbecile just like this guy.
He couldn't wait to vote for Trump. Come election day he did.
This guy is in his late 50's and works in a division of a larger parent company. Maybe their comptroller or a similar job, but a good-paying job with profit-sharing, health insurance for him and his wife, paid vacations, stock options, etc., all kinds of good shit.
Well, sometime shortly before the election the parent company says that, since they they had recently bought another company with complimentary products, they decided to merge the two divisions. Obviously you don't need two comptrollers, presidents, COO's, purchasing, legal, and marketing depts., etc., etc., do you? Get the picture?
Right after the election he found out HE was the one they were going to let go. And they did.
Thank you for your years of service, couldn't a-done it with out you; now here's your severance package, your vested stock options, your 401k, etc., etc., and there's the freakin' door.
Late 50's and unemployed - and now on COBRA.
Well, being in his late 50's he's finding it harder to find a new job, and COBRA doesn't last forever, so this American Patriot starts to look for a new health insurance company.
Did I mention that besides being in his late 50's he is also extremely overweight....? As in...really fat? And now reality hit. What he took for granted before was no longer there for him. Late 50's and fat, his quotes for health insurance were coming in at around $2,000. A. Fucking. Month! $24,000 a year.
Oh! Wait. What's that you say? You need coverage for your late 50's and equally fat wife, too? OK. Double it! $48,000 a year for the two of them; $48,000 that he can't afford.
So guess who ran to sign up for that "Soshilust!" damn Obamacare at the end of December? Every time my brother sees him he congratulates him on getting coverage in a way that just oozes with satire.
I wonder how he feels after the GOP's "Repeal and Replace" plan was just released and his premiums are gong to go through the roof?
The real Hunger Games are only just beginning.
