March 20, 2017 By Taegan Goddard
With just less than 30 days until the special election to replace former Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), a new Clout Research poll finds that Jon Ossoff (D) is greatly solidifying his base of support and now leads the special election field with 41%.
Karen Handel (R) now only has a marginal edge over Bob Gray (R), as both effectively tie at 16%.

Some numbers: 42% R, 30% I, 91% white, 91% non-union, 45% over 65. The sample is old, white, conservative and Republican.

(15,292 posts)The sample is pretty much an electorate that would be expected to elect a Republican, so Ossoff leading is a good sign for him, imho. Clout Research used an LV screen, but it doesn't say who they considered a likely voter. By their sample, I'd say they are using the usual screens of voting history, etc, which could be problematic given the anger and engagement Dems are showing.

(12,165 posts)And we've gotten canvassed. There are more Ossoff signs in yards than Trump and Hillary combined had. His commercials air constantly. There is a real feeling of possibility.
It would be so sweet for a dem to win quack Price's seat.
