question about trumps rally tonight

sorry to gum up general discussion with this trivia, but is this trump rally a normal thing for presidents to do? Have other presidents held pep rally's?, and so close to the beginning of his term. The number of the rallies and being in the infancy of his term just seems odd to me. Asking before i start being belligerent on facebook about how narcissistic this is.

go on facebook and be belligerent about this. It is absolutely not normal. I think these things are organized for two reasons: first, to take attention off the scandal of the day; and second, because Trump needs the adoration of the crowd, and his handlers realize that. Better to have him bask in the far - off cultish glow of the ever-decreasing fanatics than to have him yelling at staff in the Oval Office.

these are entirely about make soothing Donnie's wounded feelings and stroking his narcissism.

They are touted as campaign rallies for 2020 which is ridiculous.

for a rally. So he can get his jollies from adoring crowds. Before they all start throwing tomatoes at him. Soon. I hope.

This type of rally is for the President to generate public support of his proposed policies - i.e., budget, healthcare, and encourage the citizens to call their elected official to tell them to support whatever policies the President proposes. President Obama did something similar after his proposed budget and intro to Obamacare. The difference was that President Obama actually talked about details of his proposed budget and healthcare plan. President Trump talks about himself, inauguration crowd, blah, blah, blah.
