House Conservatives Remain Opposed To Trump’s Health Care Bill With Hours To Go
The deadline is near, but no deal has been struck.

A last-minute attempt by President Donald Trump to corral conservative votes for his health care overhaul has fallen short.

The chairman of the House Freedom Caucus ― a band of conservative lawmakers who have opposed the bill ― said that “no deal” had been reached after a White House meeting on Thursday.

Should the Freedom Caucus continue to oppose the bill, its fate would be in serious jeopardy. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) can afford to lose no more than 21 votes. And with conservatives opposed, the number of House members unwilling to back the bill looks to be well above that total.

“There aren’t enough votes as of 1:30 p.m.,” said the Freedom Caucus chair, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.).

4. I think that most people...

...outside of places like DU, where people are politically aware and educate themselves daily on these matters...simply refuse to believe that something like this could happen.

Trump supporters are only recently, and S-L-O-W-L-Y, coming to the realization that they were sold a false bill of goods, and that Trump's definition of "helping them" is a mixture of lining his own pockets, getting a free, taxpayer-paid $3 million golf weekend 52 weeks a year, plus another $1 million a day to keep his wife ensconced at Trump Tower, and that's about it.

People are going to have to get hurt...really, really hurt, and in large numbers...by his policies, before this all becomes "dinner table conversation."

7. The only way Trump supporters will wake up is two-fold

1. They have to be directly harmed by Trump's policies. That's clear. They give zero shit about anyone else. He could round up and execute liberals via gas chambers and THEY WOULD CHEER. Guaranteed.

2. They have to believe the harm they suffered was by Trump. That's why he's screeching endlessly about fake news and never, ever, ever takes responsibility for anything. He knows as long as the rotten dummies blame someone else other than him he'll skate away without consequence.

...my brother in law, who says "Trump may become the greatest president of all time," also said "If it doesn't affect me personally, I don't care what he does."

He has no idea how close he is to being "affected personally," and he won't listen if you try to tell him. He tells me I listen to too much "fake news."

So I stopped trying to tell him.
