(29,554 posts)"After receiving his JD from Harvard, Schiff began working as a prosecutor in the Los Angeles branch of the U.S. Attorney's Office. While an assistant U.S. Attorney he gained attention by prosecuting a case against Richard Miller, a former FBI agent convicted of "passing secret documents to the Soviet Union in exchange for a promised $65,000 in gold and cash." (9,696 posts)"it's not wrong if you know in your heart it's right" would probably be sessions logic.
These people really think the ends justifies the means, they are true believers.

(11,949 posts)What sent Nunes into a panic yesterday and why neither the WH or Nunes is talking about it now. That was a stupid move. His credibility is shot even amoung Senate Republicans.

(6,344 posts)I have seen over and over and over again black men shot and killed and their shooter gets off every time by the Grand Jury process. It is a one-sided, closed door deal.
We need all this open, independent and fair. We have too many within the government part of this treason.

The American people need to see this - ALL of it.

(51,129 posts)Otherwise, the White House would not have been subpoenaed and forced to order document retention several weeks ago. And, if that process was not near fully completed, Comey would not have been authorized to reveal an investigation was happening.
I imagine the second FISA warrant was to (1) make certain they were proceeding with an unimpeachable warrant by more narrowly defining the targets so inclusion of a possible President-elect would not impair procedureand (2) to impanel the grand jury based on the new, bullet-proof warrant.

(32,579 posts)A secret grand jury did nothing for us, it should have all been out in the open.
***BEFORE THE ELECTION***
We could have stopped the election from even happening, if we had known.
Instead they kept it all quiet and let this asshole win.
Now where are we?

(32,579 posts)FBI director James Comey circulated his famous letter to every member of Congress less than 10 days before the election. That letter made UNTRUE but damaging insinuations about Hillary just in time to influence a few undecided voters. The GOP made a heyday out of it, even though they knew it was nothing.
Meanwhile the FBI also had (apparent) PROOF that Trump and his group colluded with a foreign country and enemy of the USA, in order to win the election and cheat Hillary. They had this info in October and yet it was sealed by Grand Jury and nobody talked about it.
Don't you think this would have affected how people voted?
Wouldn't this have been enough to cancel the election, or at least put it on hold while Trump's candidacy was judged to be illegitimate?
I think yes. So why was this held under wraps in October?
Why is it still not being brought out even now?

(128,442 posts)notably because the GOP in Congress are compromised. But it will require the DOJ to get one empaneled....

(15,265 posts)What he said was that the evidence he's seen would be comparable to the kind of evidence that a prosecutor could bring to a GJ.

He himself was a prosecutor for many years.
This is not the kind of crime that should be cordoned off to a darkened room, and representative Adam Schiff clearly recognizes that as well.

(14,558 posts)These right wing demagogues are treasonous fucks, all. All they want to do is ruin everything that is decent. They have perverted the concept of 'patriotism' to mean the biggest bully on the playground, and now they are going to pay.
Good.
Fuck them.

(1,779 posts)that is, if one is the head of a corporation (or an army) which is doing terrible things, one cannot simply state that one does not know what was going on and so therefore one is not responsible.
