Republicans could be held accountable for failing to act on their raison d'etre for the past seven years. All of the meaningless show votes they held in the House, and the bill they got through the Senate they knew would be vetoed could be held against them.

What remains to be seen is if there is fertile, if any, ground for Democrats to cultivate among GOP voters, but with the way Democrats are viewed by most of them, as Satan incarnate, my guess is they'll stay home before voting for any Democrat. Unfortunately that will probably be the only way we get a political advantage out of this debacle, if their base is depressed and their turnout is low.

What sucks is that the Republicans get to be Heartless and Gutless, and because their name is not attached to any vote, Nameless too.
