Read some of the comments of people who have read her articles about this. Those who raise the usual objections that have been raised since this red tilt has become commonplace are all the same. The most popular is the "Reluctant Republican Responder" thesis; that is, that Republicans are more reluctant to disclose their vote that Dems. Ask yourself if this makes any sense. Why would this be true? Give a good reason before you bring up this idea. Usually, it's those in a hurry who need to get back to work who refuse to respond and my feeling is that this group is probably composed of more Dems than Repubs.

Beth Clarkson has been crusading for a long time now to get fair and VERIFIED elections in KS. But this is not a problem just in KS; it's a problem all over the country and it has been going on since at least 2002. One of the best overall sources of information about what is going on is Jon Simon's book CODE RED. He continues to analyze the results of elections all over the country and by his estimate, Kansas has about a 7 pt red tilt, one of the largest in the country.

I've lived in WI all my life and have always been proud of my home state until now. The Rethuglicans have gerrymandered the state until it is becoming almost impossible to elect a Democrat. I live in the 7th District and despite some excellent Dems we can't get past Sean Duffy.
I hate what is happening to my state and can only hope the Supreme Court will look at our gerrymandering and rule in the Dems favor.

So now, we're essentially playing defense - Dayton vetoing or promising to veto the garbage the state legislature is throwing at him.

And the governorship is an open seat in 2018....

as they (mainly the rural areas) turned the state legislature over to the Republicans. Currently Mark Dayton is all that stands between us and the forces of darkness.

What is really maddening is that this was the situation the first 2 years Mark was governor. That time the Republicans tried to overreach so badly that in 2014 the voters turned the state house over to the DFL. That two year period is when most the good stuff got done. Then in 2016, the state House went Republican and in 2016 the House stayed Republican and the state Senate was handed over to them as well.

They are likely still grappling with Healthcare costs. I read California may show the way going forward. I want Jerry Brown to pivot next year to a new job of helping states achieve success under ACA. A Sort of de Facto health care czar.

This is just even more proof that when a state or even our country is run by progressives the results are positive. When adults are in charge everyone wins.

Why can't they get out from under the grip of the GOP and the Koch brothers?

California is another great state with a phenomenal economy and good government.

I'm stuck here in IL hell with the Scott Walker wannabe Bruce let-them-eat-cake Rauner. The only good thing is that Chris Kennedy will be challenging him for the governorship and I think Mr. Kennedy is very much in the Dayton mold. I think we have a great chance to return to democratic governorship.
