Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDoes anyone recall Devin Nunes saying during a news conference, I believe it was at the Capital
either the day after his trip to the White House or two days after that trip, the following when being questioned by the press about how he came to go down to the WH?
Nunes: "He called me." (quick pause) "I called him and told him I was coming down ..."
My emphasis is on the fact that following day or two days later, Nunes was having a press conference and in response to a question about how it came about his having gone down to the WH, he blurts out "He called me", meaning Trump, and quickly corrected himself saying "I called him".
The reason I'm bringing it up is because I believe he stated correctly the first time out of his mouth that Trump called him, but caught it right away and immediately restated that he had called Trump. Nunes is not a very good liar and has to be one of the worse, but I think he screwed up and accidentally told the truth the first time because he's in over his head and he's not a good liar (unlike so many other's in the Trump transition team). My reason for mentioning it is that I hadn't seen anyone else reference this apparent, "slip of the tongue", and wanted to know if anyone else recalls it and if so has it been discussed previously here on DU. My mother always said, "if you just tell the truth, you don't have to worry about remembering what you said the last time".
