For all the trashing that Christianity gets here (some deserved, some overblown), I really hope that people can cast a similar skepticism and demand for accountability towards Scientology.

which costs the faithful a fortune to find out at the end that they're acting out a science fiction story so utterly bad that Hubbard failed to find a publisher for it.

The last thing I'd call it is a religion. Practicing psychiatry without a license, maybe. Scam, definitely. Religion, no.

Calling themselves a church is a tax dodge that also means their books never get opened.
