Why can't we hire George Lakoff like the Republicans rely on Frank Luntz?

What a brilliant wordsmith Lakoff is. If Democrats want to win elections, he's our "Frank Luntz" without the lies and sleeze. We need focus groups! More media research. Lakoff is the perfect person for this.

Just a thought in light of the fact that Republicans seem to be out in front on the framing of the health care debate, once again...

That's a good question, but it's worth the try. All conservatives did was buy up the airwaves. Liberal_Stalwart71 Jul 2012 #4
I've always wondered why we don't have our own Frank Luntz-type figure. jenmito Jul 2012 #5

...response is the biggest tell tale of this; instead of backing her up and pointing out the Romney's are elitist they DNC went on an apology tour.

Look at the ACA ruling, instead of some teaching 15 - 30 second spots they let the whole week go without one major non Sunday live appearance spouting it's benefits and the fact that the penalty will be enforced as a tax and not a tax itself if people who can afford it have health insurance

Alan Grayson used to get on CNN, I believe partly because he didn't offer up apologetic pablum. He called the repubs out on their death panel lies. He also doesn't let pundits & other guests hijack the debate. What would have been nice is to have a couple more dozen dems do the same!

What if 50 more dems had called CNN/MSNBC/ABC/whoever & said, "Put me on your show - I want to call out the repub death panel lies & if you don't, I'll let the blogosphere know that you don't want to put dems on your show."

The media can't do much with one lone voice.

Why can we polls millions from our rich donors and buy up at least one radio station. Yes, Air America failed but not for the lack of trying. Poor management skills led to its demise.

It's a great idea (if we could ever get our side as organized as theirs).
