CPAC's boy wonder swings left

Jonathan Krohn took the political world by storm at 2009’s Conservative Political Action Conference when, at just 13 years old, he delivered an impromptu rallying cry for conservatism that became a viral hit and had some pegging him as a future star of the Republican Party.

Now 17, Krohn — who went on to write a book, “Defining Conservatism,” that was blurbed by the likes of Newt Gingrich and Bill Bennett — still watches that speech from time to time, but it mostly makes him cringe because, well, he’s not a conservative anymore.

SOO...congrats to Krohn for realizing he didn't know everything at 13. However, now that he's on the edge of 17, Krohn seems wise to the fact that he still doesn't know everything, and is hesitant to label himself. Do we give the kid credit, or does credit go to Bill Mahr, who recently used Krohn as the bad example by which to compare the most juvenile GOP commentators (read: All the GOP commentators)?

Of do we forget about assigning credit, and deal a healthy handful of blame - blame to anyone stupid enough to not know then what this kid knows now - that 13 year old children don't have a freaking lick of life experience, and shouldn't be revered as ideological icons?

didn't make them question just what their leaders were telling them.

Face it, 13 year olds are having their brains rewired and aren't supposed to make much sense. Since this kid sounded just like Limbaugh, you'd think they'd question Limbaugh's thought processes.

It's amazing that he's now grown up and out of conservatism a little over 3 years later. At this rate, he might be grown up enough to be a raving socialist like me by the age of 21.
