"Stop being mean to me!" Chris Christie insults journalist and then runs away

He made his feelings toward one unlucky reporter plain this weekend, ridiculing him as “stupid” and an “idiot” when he dared ask an off-topic question at a press conference.

Reporters had been told to limit their questions at Saturday’s press event to the subject of a water emergency in Monmouth County. But in an ABC News video of the outburst, a reporter was heard asking Christie if he planned to address the state legislature on Monday, in a reference to an ongoing budget dispute.

“Did I say on topic? Are you stupid? On topic, on topic,” Christie snapped. “Next question.”

The governor then dismissed the group, taking one parting shot at the journalist: “Thank you all very much, and I’m sorry for the idiot over there.”
