But damn if it does not bring back to me the insufferable attitude I experienced from an old room-mate who was an obsessive and die-hard Penn State fan/advocate. Hell, I went to large Southern Universities, where football, tailgating and the like are sacrosanct, but none of that held a candle to her brand of obsessive fandom. As if she wasn't bad enough, when her family would come to visit, it was a very special kind of hell. So, I won't give into any schadenfreude--that would be very inappropriate, given the victims of this horrendous travesty. But, I do have to wonder how she and her family are processing all of this.

That's both good and unusual enough that I feel pretty good to see it.

I am positive, the money from the NCAA (and everywhere else) played a significant role in the decision making process for these people.

They got away with it for much longer than they should have.

Shame.

information as possible without jeopardizing prosecutions so as to aid civil suits; and make sure
the prosecutors and investigators have all the resources they need.

charges and probably some extended time in the slammer. Penn State is, institutionally speaking, going to get sued into the ground with civil actions.

And all to protect a shitheel pedophile buddy of Joe Paterno's and the football program. Has any institution this side of the catholic church ever shot itself in the feet so completely?

if a coach ever calls an agent, he can get fired or see his school's program get the Death Penalty, but coverup a pedophile and you get nothing?

the ncaa really does not handle criminal charges (outside of their area?) and though some sanctions may be put in place they are sorta waiting until as much data from investigations can be gathered as possible.so ?

In the report, there is a mention of Spanier banning an agent from campus after the agent provided an athlete with $400 worth of clothes. (p. 52 - in 1997).

Yet Sandusky still had keys to the buildings on his person when he was arrested Nov 2011.

"Protect the program at all costs" should be enough for NCAA to step in - from at minimum, a collegiate athletic culture perspective - or one would think.
