NEW YORK (AP) The price of oil is up 7 percent on indications that production in the U.S. has slowed following the big drop in prices since last June.
U.S. oil surged $3.18 to $47.71 a barrel.
Baker Hughes reported that the number of rigs drilling for oil in the U.S fell by 94 in the past week to 1,223. That's down 199 from this time last year.

(47,470 posts)On the one hand, I feel bad for all the energy workers who've lost their job.
On the other hand, it would be nice if Texas and Alaska realize that they cannot rely only on oil to provide a safety net. That is, if it does provide a safety net..

The true fact is there are only two choices: ACT now or PAY later.
We can act quickly simply by Abolishing the Prohibition on HEMP.
Why is that?
Big OIL destroyed the HEMP Industry.
Most products you are talking about were readily produced by the HEMP Industries.
For more infos on this topic, GOOGLE "Prohibition on HEMP".
In doing so, it will give you a better idea about what's taking place in the U.S. and abroad, today!
