(Atlanta) Downtown Connector southbound reopens after suspicious device investigation

Atlanta police are investigating a suspicious device that closed 14th Street and and the downtown Connector for hours Monday.

The Georgia DOT tells Channel 2 Action News that 14th Street was closed between Techwood Drive and West Peachtree Street and I-75/85 was closed north and southbound at 14th Street.

The ramps to 14th from I-75/85 in both directions were closed as well.

A spokesperson said police found a tube shaped object duct taped to the side of the bridge over the interstate at the base of a pole.
